Positive Changes helps keep disabled people and their families together in their homes. We achieve this by acting as a resource and providing services that enable them to remain in their home and an active part of the community.
Positive Changes strives to break the barriers of disabilities by assisting with home modifications, respite care, peer counseling and educational services available to the client and their family. We can provide a variety of services and resources available through local, state and federal agencies. We also work with contractors, electricians and who ever else may be needed to make modifications, if necessary, to the home.
Our primary focuses is the family support we offer. We work with the individual and their support system to enable them to remain a cohesive "family unit"... whether it is biological or a extended support system.

Real-Life Examples
Positive Changes had the opportunity to help a low quadriplegic by getting him in contact with a reputable chiropractor that would take his insurance, which also helped him get more comfortable in his chair by way of strengthening his spine. Next, we were able to put him in contact with a local wheelchair company that could fix the approximately one-year old electric wheelchair that he had purchased outright for free!
A young girl in her teenage years needed a new lightweight manual wheelchair that she could handle by herself. We made a few phone calls and in less than a week had found a brand-new lightweight girls chair that fit her very well and also still had a warranty on the back rest, so she was able to have it customized to fit her free of charge.
By networking with other companies and making phone calls for about a week, Positive Changes received a fully functional and adjustable attendant push along child wheelchair that was in need of reconditioning. With some of the other contacts that we have made throughout the years, we were able to have the donated wheelchair inspected/fixed by a professional technician at no charge and then reintroduced it to a family that needed such a chair.
There are many ways that Positive Changes is able to help! Whether it is finding medical equipment, finding resources to pay for attendance or therapy, or just being a sounding board to help individuals and their families find whatever it is they need to make their life less overwhelming. Our volunteers have over 40 years of experience in the medical and disability field.
